REAL evidence & open practice

Evidence

Evidence that can change what happens next.

Evidence Cards

What happened? What changed? What can we stand over?

REAL separates activity, observation and evidence. A good evidence record makes the claim, source, uncertainty and next action visible.

Nature Card

What is here? Date, place, photograph, proposed identification, verification status, relevant official conservation status and source.

Pattern Story Card

What can you make from it? Natural pattern, open invitation, mathematical ideas and accessibility guardrails.

Evidence Card

What can you stand over? Claim, evidence, limitation, change made and what should be checked next.

Life at REAL

A growing nature record — not our own Red List.

REAL can record what is observed locally while relying on official Irish and international conservation sources for formal status. Verification stays separate from storytelling.

Student or community submissions can move through a simple path: submit → check → verify → publish.

Privacy & provenance

Open where useful. Protected where necessary.

Private project sites do not need precise public pins. Children and participants do not need to become public content. Evidence can be transparent about method while protecting location and identity.
